Don’t over do your wedding day schedule!

Just a wee note to all couples out there planning their day and photos. I really want you to think about how tiring this day is. The weeks building up to it, seeing family, lists, nights out, stress etc. The logistics of it all can be over whelming in the leading days.

If you make your plan simple things will come together much easier.

If your ceremony is in a different place to your reception and your are planning different locations for your bridal party photos, then consider how scorching hot or cold (if wet & windy) you all might be, that you have to get in and out of cars, that you will rather want time to chat eat and and drink, and that 3 stops takes time. If you want your wedding photographer to create beauty you need to give them more than 5 minutes at each spot. Being rushed in and out of your car and spot to spot is not as enjoyable as being relaxed in one spot.

Trust me – I’ve been doing this 12 years now and running around all over the place isn’t as much fun as it sounds in your wedding gear and for the girls (high heeled shoes you’ve probably never worn before while in a long tight dress). x

Despite the wind, we dodged the rain and had a great day shooting at Wynyard Quarter before the Mantells on the Water ceremony by Libby Dykes and fabulous dinner.

Alpers Dental moves

Six years ago I was referred to Alpers – my dentist said Nic waas the best, all the way to Newmarket from Orewa I went.. and I’m so glad I did. I now have the nicest teeth! Now I take my daughter there and highly recommend them to anyone.

Astra Bridal puts on a show at Kumeu Valley Estate Open Day

On Sunday Kumeu Valley Estate opened its doors to couples to view everything wedding. Bride and Groom magazine were there with back issue, discounts & gift pack subscriptions. Many wedding suppliers were there sharing their products and services.

I was there to photograph the dresses for Astra Bridal. Here are my shots – I’ve had a play with colour treatments with these shots – just showing what images can be made to look like.
